Rock Creek Streambank Restoration – West Fork, Arkansas

Before

After

The Rock Creek Streambank Restoration Site (EQIP funded) is located along Rock Creek, immediately upstream of the confluence with the West Fork of the White River (WFWR). The project is located in the Rock Creek watershed, which is located in the West Fork White River Watershed, which in turn resides in the Beaver Lake Watershed. The Beaver Lake Reservoir is the drinking water source for Northwest Arkansas. The drainage area at the project site is approximately 6.0 square miles at the outlet where Rock Creek drains to WFWR. The site is located within the USDA RCPP – West Fork White River Watershed Initiative project area.  The project utilized a toe-wood structure in combination with native vegetation establishment to create a stable bank profile with appropriate floodplain features to promote long-term stability of the site.
